Chapter 16
8 In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah son of Baasha reigned over Israel in Tirzah for two years. 9 And his servant Zimri, ruler of half the chariots, conspired against him. He was in Tirzah drinking, drunk, in the house of Arza, which was over the house in Tirzah. 10 Zimri came, struck him, and put him to death in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigned in his place. 11 And it was in his kingdom, when he sat on his throne, he struck all the house of Baasha; he did not leave him a pisser against the wall and his redeemers and his companions. 12 And Zimri exterminated all the house of Baasha according to the word of the LORD, which he had spoken to Baasha by the hand of Jehu the prophet. 13 to all the sins of Baasha and the sins of his son, which they sinned and which they caused Israel to sin, to provoke the LORD God of Israel with their vanities. 14 Now the rest of the acts of Elah and all that he did—are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?
